String Art: the marvelous art of nails and threads

What is String Art?

String art, also known as nail wrapping or three-dimensional thread art, is a form of art in which nails are used to hold an outline and colored threads are wrapped around it to fill it in. The process of making it is simple:

1. Nail shaping – first nail the outline of the pattern on a wooden board or a certain thickness of material;

2. winding and filling – through the different colors of thread in the nails between the winding superposition, forming color and three-dimensional effect.

Simply put, it is a painting “drawn” with nails and thread!

Why is it interesting?

– Combination of craft + art: You can design the pattern like painting and experience the fun of hand winding;

– Freedom and random beauty: even if you don’t follow the precise steps of winding, the unexpected combination of lines can create a unique effect;

– Challenging patience and creativity: it looks easy, but completing complex works requires a high degree of concentration and repeated attempts.
